Surgical Oncologists are surgeons who are members of the health care team at the Centre. They consult with patients who need a biopsy to establish diagnosis, or for surgical treatment of their cancer. Depending on the case, surgery may be performed by the patient's referring surgeon or by one of the Centre's specialist surgical oncologists.
The JCC's surgical oncology staff includes four gynecological surgeons. Other surgeons affiliated with the Centre attend multidisciplinary, site specific clinics in the following cancer sites: head and neck, urology, neuro oncology, skin, lung, gastrointestinal, breast and sarcoma.
