Patient care at the Juravinski Cancer Centre is a team effort - with the patient being the most important person on the team. Together with our dedicated health care professionals, the patient and family decide which treatment is best for that individual.
Treatment services at the Centre are divided into three main Programs: Radiation, Systemic, and Surgical. Radiation treatment uses a source of radiation to destroy cancerous cells; systemic treatment involves the use of medication to eliminate cancerous cells; and surgery attempts to remove cancerous cells.
Each Program involves health care professionals and support staff from many different areas including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, radiation therapists, physicists, scientists, social workers and dietitians.
